I'd imagine that this won't be change anyway, but just wished to point this out anyway. These cheats work with both the original Age of Empires 2: The Age of Kings and Age of Empires 2: HD Edition, except for a few which have been tagged as only being compatible with the HD version.
AGE OF EMPIRES 2 CHEATS DEFINITIVE EDITION CODE
Of course I do not want to compromise any multiplayer experience by asking to revert or disable such counter-measures, but simply ask to separate the single player experience from the multiplayer one. To enter a cheat code press ENTER, type a code, then press ENTER again. Experience the original gameplay with graphics your mind thinks it remembers from 1997. However, I'm simply not interested in multiplayer and play exclusively in singleplayer so I must ask, why would these counter-measures be active in single-player too? I know that there are in-built cheat codes, but why wouldn't I be allowed to mess in the game as how I see fit in my single player experience like in any other single-player game? After all, the very fact that there are in-built cheat codes only shows that it's understood that cheating is a viable way of having fun in the game for some people. Age of Empires: Definitive Edition is a refreshed and shiny version of classic gameplay with visual upgrades to make it suitable for modern high-resolution screens. Now, I'm happy that there are effective anti-cheat counter-measures in the game for those who want fair games in multiplayer and I would never dream to complain about that. I saw that if I attempt to use a trainer with AoE II DE then the game will demand to be restarted.
